Application

Contex® double plush was used on the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) to reduce multipath reflections that might interfere with the desired signals. Shield all your cable with metallized fabric (tape). Metallized fabric is ideal for cable wrap wherever lightweight, flexibility, and excellent shielding are required. Flame-resistant versions of metallized fabric and tape are available from Marktek.

Stop static charge from damaging your products. Use Marktek's Stat-MarkTM line of products or its conductive fabrics for ESD wristbands, mats, equipment and rack covers, bags, heel-straps, wipes, and booties; or use our special conductive Eeonomer fillers for static dissipative coatings and plastics.

Thin Contex® fabric is used in pagers and other devices to isolate circuits, reduce "hot spots" and provide proper termination.

As the clock and switching speeds of electronic devices enter the GHz region, emissions become a problem for even the best shielded enclosures. Put and keep electronic devices in compliance by using specially designed, cost-effective Contex® LR1 Lossy Composite Felt to reduce emissions. The presence of Contex LR Lossy Composite Felt will also help increase immunity of the same equipment having emissions problems, and reduce troublesome cross talk. Marktek's microwave absorptive materials have been used to damp "hot spots" in cell phones, and Marktek's shielding material has been used to line the walls of cell phone antenna base station rooms. Marktek's special resistive and microwave-absorbing materials can be used for reducing radar signatures of military aircraft, ships, and land vehicles. Contex® materials can be made into radar-absorbing honeycomb structures, and Contex® glass fabrics combine the microwave response of polypyrrole with the reinforcing properties of glass fabrics. The mechanical properties of Contex glass composite laminates are equivalent to those made from untreated, nonconductive glass. No parasitic layer is required to achieve the desired microwave response. For data, click here.

Fibreohm™ resistive wire is used to isolate antennas and field meter probes, while our microwave-absorbing materials are commonly used to isolate antennas, adjust sidelobes, or reduce multipath reflections.
